Crown Reduction with Pulp Capping
Sometimes a tooth may be malpositioned and is causing trauma to the mouth. While extraction is an alternative, a tooth can often be saved by reducing the height of the crown. This exposes the pulp (nerve), so it is necessary to treat this pulp exposure to prevent infection and place a restoration in the crown to seal the crown. This is most often performed on young animals with immature teeth. Crown Reduction with Pulp Capping is one of many dental services provided at Animal Dental Specialists for the Greater Birmingham area.
