Endodontics

Root Canal Therapy for Dogs and Cats

Endodontics, or root canal therapy, refers to the treatment of the inside (root canal) of the tooth. This therapy is indicated for fractured teeth with pulp exposure, teeth that have to be shortened due to malocclusion, and non-vital teeth. Root canal therapy is an alternative to extraction, allowing the tooth to remain functional in the mouth. We use diagnostic imaging to evaluate teeth for endodontic therapy because not every tooth is a good candidate for saving.
