Animal Dental Specialists, located in Pelham, Alabama, is a unique facility that focuses exclusively on animal dental care. Owner and board-certified animal dentist, Dr. Bert Gaddis, has been providing advanced dental care for pets in Birmingham and the surrounding areas since the late 1980’s. He will partner with your primary care veterinarian to provide the skill and experience needed for your pet’s dental challenges. Services provided by Animal Dental Specialists include Complete Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT), digital dental radiography, endodontics, exodontics, oral masses, orthodontics, root planing, tooth resorption, treatment of broken teeth, and more.

Bert Gaddis, DVM, DAVDC

Bert Gaddis has been delivering top-notch veterinary care in Pelham and Greater Birmingham since 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Dairy Science in 1981, followed by his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1983. Dr. Gaddis initially joined the wonderful team at Roswell Animal Hospital in 1983, later taking ownership of the full-service clinic at Indian Springs Animal Hospital in 1984.

  This was one of the best experiences I have had with a procedure on one of my dogs. They have the most caring staff and vets. They spent as much time as I needed answering questions and making sure I knew everything that was going to happen. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about them.  My GSD has anxiety and they took time with her making her feel safe and comfortable, which means the world to me. If there were more than five stars they would get them. This should be the way all offices are ran and treat the pets and owners.

  Dog had unrecognized periodontal disease which was diagnosed during scan prior to scheduled cleaning. They were able to provide the necessary oral surgery then Everything was explained thoroughly before , during  and after treatment for extensive disease and my questions were answered.   Just a wonderful experience from the initial consultation through taking her home from surgery! Dina at the front desk was always cheerful & helpful. The veterinary technicians were all so kind & worked to give Neesha the best experience possible. Dr Gaddis was so understanding of Neesha’s special needs & explained everything that he did.  Having pictures & X-rays of her mouth was an extra bonus. I will definitely return if any dental issues pop up in the future!

  This is our second trip from Tennessee (3 hours away) for our Labradoodle, Coco! Two years ago, we had a tumor removed from her gum with no recurrence and no problems whatsoever! We needed to have several teeth removed that had gone bad for her, and I knew that Animal Dental Specialists was the best place for her! It is a big Financial investment, but I would do it again for my sweet dog! Thank you for your expertise and attention to detail!
